KING KATAMAS ON TOP

After the recent hot spell, it was a pleasure to experience some cooler weather at the Gawler greyhounds this week.
Race 10 on the card, saw the Ray Barkla trained King Katamas break through for his first win over the 531m journey at Gawler. Starting from box 2, King Katamas was away well, but third behind Kihael Canon (1) and Tru Aussie (8).......click here to read more
WINNING COMBINATION

Following last week's heats, the Final of the My Ani-Mall Golden Maiden was run at Gawler greyhounds on Tuesday.
One of the three heat winners, Tom's Turmoil from box 1 was out the fastest, from Cussler (7) and Sheza Neo (8). Tom's Turmoil was able to open up a good 3 length break down the back straight. At this stage, Sheza Neo and Cussler, who had both got back in the field, were running on well, but still 5 lengths off the lead.......click here to read more
THE HEATS ARE ON

On a hot afternoon at Gawler greyhounds, 4 heats of the My Animall Golden Maiden were run, with the qualifying greyhounds to contest the Final next week. The Golden Maiden has been a popular series at Gawler for many years, and this is the second year that it has been run over the short course 400m.......click here to read more
YOUTHFULL SUCCESS

Last week at Gawler greyhounds I was able to report on a trainer scoring her first win, and this week another young trainer took that step.
When the lids went up in the Adelaide Plains Veterinary Services Stake over 400m, Spotted Kasper from box 2, jumped equally with Dixie Shiraz (3) and reserve runner Lynn Lee (7). Lynn Lee was able to cross to the fence from out wide and easily went to the front down the back over Spotted Kasper, with the rest of the field a further 3 lengths away.......click here to read more
FIRSTS

Greyhound racing got underway in the New Year again at Gawler on Tuesday afternoon, with the Arclight Photography Open Maiden providing a race of firsts.
In a very even start, Fraser Island from box 3 edged away to lead Crazy Secrets (1) and Samantha Jones (7). Down the back straight, Samantha Jones was able to cross to the rails, to kick away and take the lead from Crazy Secrets, with Sheza Neo (8) getting into the event.......click here to read more
